Picked up an "open-box" Pflueger President 6735XT for $57 including tax and expedited shipping. Can't beat it! It's lighter than the President, which gets great reviews in general, and especially at its price point. (The open-box Presidnt XT came in cheaper than a new President.)

I don't know too much about rods and reels, and did not want to spend more than $100. This reel is smooth, light and casts and returns quite nicely. I can't wait to put it on my new Temple Fork Outfitters - Gary Loomis Signature (Medium 6' 6")

i did alot of research on 3 reels diawa,pflueger,and shimano.found the best reel to be the pflueger president xt.after trying it out i found it to be better than expected.the drag is very good,and the weight for the 6730 was a little heavy at 9ozs.casting was very good.and very good winding line in.i would rate this reel and comparable to shimano stradic,at a much lesser cost.

Nice smooth reel. I would recpommend it as a good mid proced reel for regular use.
